Job Overview:
Aerojet, a premier aerospace and defense company specializing in missile and space propulsion, is seeking an experienced engineer as a key contributor in the Computational Fluid Dynamics group of our Analysis department. This position will be responsible to conduct CFD analysis using commercial CFD codes such as FLUENT to advance the design of next generation propulsion systems. This role will be responsible to develop the critical modeling and simulation techniques used in missile and space propulsion system.


Responsibilities:
60% - Perform engineering assignments in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis support for both solid and liquid propulsion systems and components, including performing pre-test performance predictions and post-test analysis of engine test data to validate component and system models using CFD programs such as FLUENT code. CFD analysis models include hypersonic flows, supersonic flows, sub-sonic turbulent reacting flows, multi-phase fuel injection, and chemical kinetics.

30% - Participate in design and verification tests of both liquid and hypersonic propulsion systems and components. Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, design reviews, peer reviews and problem solving meetings.

10% - Produce analysis reports and test reports, and present analysis results to both internal and external customers.


Qualifications:
BS degree (MS or higher preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and at least nine years of directly applicable technical experience required (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Demonstrated experience in analysis capability in CFD, compressible fluid dynamics and reacting flow required. Must have ability to conceptualize and develop methodology of CFD applications to high speed flows. Capabilities in developing methodology in turbulence modeling and reacting flow with chemical kinetics are also required. Team leadership abilities are a must. Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
