Job Overview:
Aerojet Los Angeles is growing. We have 10 second shift Machinist positions available. Excellent medical and dental benefits, pension plan, 401(k) with employer match, and more. In this role you will set up and operate conventional, special purpose and numerical control(CNC/NC)machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic components, motor cases, nozzles, etc.

Responsibilities:
75% Produces and measures all parts produced using various machine tools and measuring instruments, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and other necessary documents.Works under minimum supervision and with a high degree of skill and accuracy. Responsible for a safe and clean work area and for the quality of parts produced.
10% Fabricates/machines development components from blueprints.
5% Makes normal set-ups requiring close tolerances. Uses one or more CNC Control funcitons to control part size and machine functions, as required.
5% Grinds special tooling and monitors wear to make necessary adjustments and sharpens, as necessary.
5% Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Must have satisfactorily completed an accredited course on machining and machining practices or be willing to do so upon hire). Five (5) years machining experience (3 years CNC/2 years conventional). Must be able to read and interpret drawings. English is required (speak, read and write). This position requires the willingness and ability to work 2nd shift and other shifts as required, with appropriate notice. Also requires the ability to carry up to 50 lbs. and to operate/work around machinery/moving machinery.
