Job Overview:
In support of the Mission Architecture and Advanced Development Engineering (MAADE) Organization, expands Aerojets reach into new system/ technology areas across all Aerojet operating sites. Works with both internal and external customers to co-operatively work future armaments, solid, and liquid propulsion business opportunities and position Aerojet for future armaments and propulsion growth. Responsible for identifying and assessing potential cutting- edge technologies and other growth platforms (potentially outside Aerojets core businesses) to foster the growth of Aerojets business. Performs engineering/technology planning and associated IR&D initiative execution required to pursue armaments and propulsion business opportunities. Provides support to other contracted programs as required.
Responsibilities:
50% Work with internal and/or external customers to understand armament and propulsion customer initiatives and focus on the development of required technologies thru IR&D and contract funding to support those initiatives. Meet with customers as required to foster and establish future business relationships. Support Requests for Information (RFIs) and Proposals as required.
30% Supports the MAADE group activities through the performance of required armament and propulsion trade studies supporting customers systems trades in concert with the MAADE group trade studies and/or performing independent trade studies to ascertain how Aerojets technologies and systems can be best used to position Aerojet for future propulsion and other related business. to grow Aerojets overall business. Perform engineering analysis of selected business opportunities to assist in the assessment for the potential for further pursuit (acquisition, JV, or teaming).
20% Provides technical support to other Aerojet contracted programs as required in areas of technical specialty.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or appropriate discipline/science and at least nine years of directly related armament and propulsion engineering experience, with a focus on armaments or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced degree strongly preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
