This individual will have overall responsibility for the technical success of our warheads product sector, and will promote designs and technical approaches to our customers. In this role, you will develop, lead and grow Aerojets team of warheads technologists, expand Aerojets presence among the technical and customer communities, and oversee Aerojets investments in future technologies to enable growth. This position will work with Aerojet program and business development stakeholders together with engineering management to balance technical, resource, cost, and schedule risk to maximize success at achieving goals within given constraints. This individual will represent the highest level technical position of this product sector in the company and customer community. Oversees all engineering and technology efforts for the warheads sector, both internally and externally funded. Responsibilities: 50% - Lead Project/Chief Engineer responsible for the technical success of Aerojets warheads sector programs. Assures that delivered products meet Aerojet and contractual requirements for engineering design. This also includes decision making and planning on the detailed scope of the program, coordination and critical review of subordinate activities, and project coordination with the program office and other functional disciplines such as manufacturing, quality, test, and supply chain management. Oversees and/or accomplishes engineering analysis, producibility analysis and materials compatibility as required. Works to develop and improve the technical tools and skills of the team to ensure program and team member success. May also prepare and support negotiation of technical proposals and provide consultation to technical staff or other organizations. 25% - Monitors status of engineering projects and communicates project requirements. Prepares technical presentations and reports documenting status, issues and results on assigned project(s), either directly or through management of subordinates. 25% - Ensures technical efforts are planned and then successfully executed within budget and schedule resources. Balances the program technical scope with cost and schedule. Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field is required; a Masters degree in a related field is desirable. Must have a minimum of 9 years of senior level experience developing and leading engineering teams through unusually complex development programs, providing solutions which are highly innovative. Minimum 9 years experience specifically in development of warhead technologies and transition into operational applications. We are seeking a recognized national authority and subject matter expert in the field of warhead technologies as evidenced by publications, patents, awards and participation across professional organizations. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). EOE, M/F/V/D. |
