More information about this job:
Job Overview:
Provide engineering design and analysis expertise for development of valve products. Valve products include a broad range of liquid propellant (both cryogenic, gaseous, and storable) rocket propulsion fluid control components and may include actuators and electronic controls. This position provides technical design guidance to our in-house valve development efforts and may assist our valve procurement related activities. This position reports to the Director of Engineering for Valve development and support.

Responsibilities:
70% - Provide engineering design and analysis support to project teams, system designers, and chief engineers in making effective valve design concept selections, specifying valve products, producing detailed valve designs, technical reports, analyses, drawings, and conducting failure investigations.
20% - Provide technical input of supplier activities to ensure that sound design, development, and producibility practices are followed.
10% - Assists in training plans and proposal development for valve components.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in the design and development of valve and fluid control devices (or an equivalent combination of experience and education). This position requires strong technical knowledge in multiple valve types (Ball, Butterfly, Poppet, etc). A comprehensive knowledge of rocket propulsion systems and associated valve functional requirements is desired. Requires demonstrated experience in developing complex fluid component valve designs which lead to successful final producible product. Candidates should have experience in machine design elements, working knowledge of all valve types, including seal and seat designs, and valve producibility engineering. Working level knowledge of CAD software is desirable. Candidates should also have design experience with complex mechanical and fluid handling systems which integrate valve components.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
