Job Overview:
Provide engineering design and analysis expertise and leadership for development of turbomachinery products. Turbomachinery products support pump-fed booster and upperstage Rocket engines by pumping liquid propellant (both cryogenic and storable) in a variety of engine operating cycles. This position provides technical design leadership to our in-house efforts as well as leadership to our supply base. This position reports to the Director of Engineering for Fluid Management Systems.

Responsibilities:
50% - Provide engineering design and analysis support to project teams, system designers, and chief engineers in making effective turbomachinery design concept selections, specifying turbomachinery products & technology, producing detailed turbomachinery designs, technical reports, analyses, drawings, and leading failure investigations.
30% - Provide technical oversight of supplier activities to ensure that sound design, development, and producibility practices are followed.
20% - Performs a leadership role in mentoring relationships, developing training courses and plans. Also supports proposal development, discretionary and strategic planning for turbomachinery products.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least nine years of experience in the design and development of turbomachinery products. This position requires strong technical knowledge in rocket systems and integrations of turbomachinery products. Candidates should have experience in machine design elements, working knowledge of turbomachinery products, including seal and bearing designs, and producibility engineering. Working level knowledge of CAD software is desirable. Candidates should also have design experience with complex mechanical and fluid handling systems which integrate turbomachinery components. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
