Overview:
Performs detailed inspections on rocket motor components and assemblies under direct supervision. Responsible for strict adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. Performs inspections that are not completely formalized and require some judgment, with a good understanding of the related ISO 9001 elements.
This position requires employees to enter the manufacturing areas. The hours of work will equate to those of the manufacturing areas, and overtime will be required as directed by the department manager. Responsible for strict adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
60%- Using calipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment, and performing inspections on rocket motors and rocket motor components under the supervision of higher level inspectors.
30%- Paperwork (writing IR cards, Discrepancy reports, etc.)
10%- Entering shipping data, Discrepancy reports and Oracle entries in the computer on all programs.
Requirements:
Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate-Silver Level required for this position.
High School graduate or equivalent with (2) years related experience associated with the inspection of chemical processing, soldering, casting, inert operations (no propellant), bonding, assembly, and/or component parts or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Trade or Vocational School courses in drawing interpretation and basic math are desirable. Must have a good understanding of the related ISO9001 elements.
Specialized equipment use is required to perform specified tasks. Must be able to climb ladder, manipulate gages, qualify for the respirator program, drive motorized vehicles, carry a minimum of 35 pounds and may occasionally be required to lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds and pass a visual acuity test.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.(U.S. Citizenship required).
