Overview:
Under general supervision and following established policies, performs assignments requiring full use and application of standard safety engineering principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
35%- Reviews, analyzes and evaluates facilities, methods, practices and procedures for compliance with safety standards.
35%- Performs inspections and surveys to identify occupational hazards and recommends corrective action.
10%- Investigates accidents and makes recommendations to prevent recurrence.
10%- Conducts required safety training programs.
10%- Represent safety department in interactions with internal and external customers and regulatory agencies as directed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate science and two years of directly related technical experience as an associate safety engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
