Overview:
Under general direction, this position will be directly involved in strategizing, planning and executing campaigns and interactions that would serve to broaden Aerojet’s footprint on Capitol Hill and within DOD and NASA, as well as facilitate more frequent regular interactions that grow and sustain relationships already in place.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
35% Primary responsibility for tracking the 100+ DOD and NASA funding lines for Aerojet programs and programs of interest in agency budget documents, as well as the various bills as they move through Congress each year
10% Monitor and report on legislation of interest and alert when bills are moving; Attend and summarize hearings of interest; Perform initial reviews of legislation and committee reports as they come out; Perform initial reviews of GAO, CRS, CBO and other agency reports on programs of interest
10% Create, deliver and support presentations for Hill audience
10% Attend and report on industry meetings when others in the office cannot attend (AIA, STA, prime support, etc.)
5% Coordinate logistics for congressional visits to Aerojet facilities
10% Produce and distribute weekly reports relating to congressional activity
Draft PAC newsletter and political alerts
10% Maintain files for each congressional office and all major bills
10% Perform research into DOD and NASA funding information

Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least 9 years of total experience, including at least 3 years of experience working in a congressional staff, agency (i.e. DOD or NASA) or other legislative-related field. Experience in or significant exposure to the aerospace industry strongly preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
