Overview:
This Program Manager position is for new business and development programs within the Tactical Propulsion product line. Duties will include primary program management responsibility and some support to more senior level Program Managers on very large programs. The Program Manager filling this position will report to a Program Management Director.
Traveling is required for this position to support our customers and our manufacturing operations in Camden, AR.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
80% Lead integrated product teams while interacting with customers and functional managers to achieve program objectives. Includes development and management of program plans including technical and programmatic approach, risk management, budgeting, and scheduling.
10% Lead proposal and RFI responses to capture new business.
10% Manage special or discretionary projects to support new initiatives.
Requirements:
BS degree in an engineering discipline and nine (9) or more years experience in an engineering, product development or manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. MS in an engineering discipline preferred. Solid propulsion experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of project management including Project Planning, Project Control (Earned Value), Project Execution, Communication, Procurement, and Quality. Knowledge of project management within the defense acquisition environment with specific knowledge of solid propulsion systems a plus. Demonstrated ability in team building and leadership skills to achieve project objectives. Demonstrated ability to accomplish results as agreed upon. Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously. Ability to independently propose, plan, and then execute a project. Ability to communicate with teammates, managers, and customers in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to implement product design and development stage gate process (reviews for design, build, and test).
Must be proficient in typical office computer programs for conduct of program management such as MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Word.
Proficiency to also include setting up Integrated Master Schedules using knowledge of MS Project or similar scheduling tool to create extensive project files for large-size projects. Experience in aligning MS Project schedules and Control Account Plans desired.
Traveling is required for this position to support our customers and our manufacturing operations in Camden, AR.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
