Overview:
Engineering project team leader over the design and development of rocket motors and for the support of rocket motor products in production.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
25% - Prepares technical plans; implements technical activities, including requirements development, design and analysis tasks, special studies, experiments and tests
10% - Defines, prepares and evaluates program technical risk in relation to resources and capabilities to meet requirements based on input from functional engineering organizations
40% - Works as a leader in a team environment. Coordinates and evaluates project activities within engineering and interfaces with manufacturing, quality, test, procurement and program management personnel to accomplish objectives
10% - Balances the program technical scope with cost and schedule; performs cost account management
15% - Interfaces with customers; plans, prepares for, and leads technical meetings involving customers and project stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering and nine years of related technical experience (see below) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree in Engineering preferred.
Directly applicable engineering experience in solid rocket propulsion design, development and production support required. Training and certification in Six Sigma a plus. This position may involve future relocation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
