Overview:
Under general direction, performs business development projects requiring a wide application of advanced principles, theories and concepts in the field plus a working knowledge of other related disciplines. Responsible for the successful operation of marketing activities of major significance and have the skill set to provide technical and administrative guidance for activities in the Tactical Systems Business Unit. A self-starter, who through knowledge, DoD experience, and a personal network within the Aerojet sphere of influence, can seek out new contract opportunities while nurturing and continuing to evolve existing contracts. Have the interpersonal skills to communicate the Aerojet product line effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors both internal and external to Aerojet. Provide market evaluation and forecasting, competitor assessments, recommendations of product development, and capture/win strategies.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
70% Manages and coordinates the marketing program of a product segment in Aerojet. Identifies future customer requirements that may influence the organization's direction in technology development.
20% Develops product, price and marketing strategies. Develops and maintains competitor assessments. Provides input to the strategic marketing plan. May represent the organization in technical conferences and other marketing efforts that promote the expertise and capabilities of the business unit.
10% Maintains frequent contacts with equivalent inter-organizational managers and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements or contractual clarifications. May conduct briefings for internal and external representatives.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Engineering and nine years directly related experience in the defense industry or equivalent combination of education and experience in the defense industry. (Advanced degree, Air Force experience, and energetics expertise preferred). Requires demonstrated marketing skills including the ability to plan and coordinate the activities of assigned organization. Ability to provide technical and administrative leadership to accomplish organization goals and commitments. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
