Overview:
Senior Process Engineer (Machining) in the Machining Technology Department responsible for fabricating products from written instructions and drawings by selecting equipment best suited for the process, programming, setting up, operating, and troubleshooting equipment such as manual and multi-axis CNC lathes, mills, grinders and supporting equipment.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
70% - Working from technical drawings and/or written descriptions, develops programming, selects appropriate tooling, establishes appropriate set up procedures, troubleshoots machining processes and trains operators/technicians
20% - Collection, organization and analysis of data and written reports
10% - Estimating machining time and costs and providing support for technical proposals
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology or a related field and at least five years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must have specific experience programming, selecting tooling, setting up, operating and troubleshooting multi-axis CNC lathes, mills and grinders. Fabrication experience with metals, stainless steel, aluminum, steel and/or tungsten is required. Must have the demonstrated ability to work with and interpret complex hard copy and electronic blueprints to fabricate products. Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing/dimensioning is required. Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine, Esprit CAM (Computer Aided Machining) software and SolidWorks CAD (Computer Aided Design) software preferred. Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) a plus. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
