Overview:
This position will be responsible for leading electronics manufacturing activities for Aerojet in Redmond, WA, which produces low volume, high complexity electronics power processing units for the space applications. The person in this position will work with a cross functional team of engineers including program management, assembly technicians, and test personnel to ensure quality manufacturing of space electronics hardware. Responsibilities include manufacturing process development/maintenance, work instruction creation, tool design, test equipment design, personnel training, process ownership, and management of hardware flow through production including budget and schedule.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
45% - Manage production hardware flow through assembly and potentially test including maintaining BOM’s, creating/maintaining assembly/test work instructions, and managing resources priorities (budget and schedule).
25% - Work hands on in high reliability electronics assembly/test environment to define specifications for tooling needs.
10% - Support integrated product teams in the design and development of new and upgraded products and processes to ensure they conform to best practices for manufacturing and assembly.
20% - Serve as process owner for key electronics processes including ensuring successful implementation, training, certification of personnel, and process monitoring to ensure process control is maintained.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a Mechanical Engineering with appropriate working Electrical Engineering experience) and 2 years of related technical experience. Must have experience in electronics manufacturing and a solid understanding of concepts and practices common to an aerospace electronics environment including PWBs, IPC-J-STD, hand soldering, and wave soldering. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to analyze and solve technical problems with minimum supervision are required. Must have experience and familiarity with MS Office products (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint). Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.
