This position leads the technical definition of Power Managmement and Distribution systems (PMAD) systems in a manner that supports successful business capture and project implementation.
This position is responsible for creation of Power Management and Distribution (PMAD) and Propulsion Power Processing system architectures from customer and mission analysis requirements, driving subsystem component requirements, and collaborating with the Integrated Systems lead in support of business development and technical proposal activity. Knowledge of PMAD architecture including solar arrays and drive assemblies, component specification and design including peak power tracking, energy storage, DC-DC power converter topologies, power bus, controllers, and digital communication protocols. Working knowledge of spacecraft architecture, including power processing, electrical fundamentals of power management including system modeling and stability analysis, EMC, control theory, circuit simulation and Worst Case Circuit Analysis and in PMAD system behavior.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
25% - Defines architecture and requirements for spacecraft PMAD sub-systems.
25% - Performs system and subsystem analysis and simulations, applying electrical fundamentals,
25% - Creates technical proposals including development NRE labor and materials, make/buy trades and project planning. Supports business development through technical presentations.
25% - Creates PMAD component requirement specifications.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and five years of related technical experience including a solid understanding of systems engineering, integrated product development, and project management. MSEE degree preferred. Experience in the design of space based power management systems and spacecraft systems analysis and design. Must have experience in developing detailed requirements documentation and defining detailed electrical interfaces within a system/subsystem. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
