Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
Responsible for direction of Composite Operation work on third shift. Will monitor work and actively assist and provide direction to hourly staff as required to accomplish department goals. Provide clear communication between shifts in order to achieve a smooth transition of work asignments for the following activities:
25% - Schedule and utilize personnel, material and facilities to ensure that work assignments completed.
25% - Interface with Manufacturing, Quality and Material groups as needed to assure material and planning is available to accomplish assignments.
10% - Establish and maintain a variety of records in the manufacturing area to monitor internal operating controls.
10% - Respond to cause and corrective actions on non-conformance reports as required.
10% - Coordinate maintenance of equipment to support the manufacturing area.
5% - Review manufacturing documentation to assure quality requirements are being met.
5% - Provide training on manufacturing techniques, policies and procedures to keep team members current on latest requirements.
5% - Provide direction and leadership for 5S improvements within the work area.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
5% - May be responsible for union contract administration including responding to grievances and understanding contract interpretation.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline/science and five (5) years of directly related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Requires directly related and progressively responsible technical experience in the field.
Supervisory and administrative skills including the ability to select, appraise, motivate and develop subordinates.
Ability to provide effective direction, leadership and team building. Demonstrated abilities to plan, prioritize and delegate work assignments.
Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of design practices, manufacturing techniques and inspection requirements.
Work place may include areas where chemical materials are encountered. May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels. Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and
equipment safety. May be required to utilize a variety of personal protective equipment.
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.
