Overview:
This occupation requires performing, under the direction of proper supervision, work operations related to the developmental fabrication of components and complete assembly of solid propellant grains and engine parts and assemblies where instructions and specifications may not be completely spelled out and/or clearly indicated.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
50% Performs developmental solid propellant fabrication of components, and completes assembly operations working from blueprints, sketches and written or verbal instructions.

Devises mechanical aids to facilitate fabrication, processing, assembly and installation operations.

Alters propellant grains and restrictions by use of lathes, drills, reamers, grinders and other related power tools.

May test components for proper functioning and make adjustments as required.

50% Maintains and signs off records on completion of his work.
Performs rework at the same level of difficulty described herein.
Carries out related tasks as assigned.

In performance of work operations described herein, utilizes hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, propellant lathes, mixing, blending and grinding equipment and other related processing equipment, jigs and fixtures.

Requirements:
High school graduate or the equivalent, technical school training and three (3) years experience as Operator Senior, or related experience commensurate with the work requirements indicated.

Should have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the workability and processing of Solid Propellant Rocket motors and components in order to perform independently on the job with a minimum of supervision, or completion of Training Development Bridge.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
