Overview:
As a member of the Aerojet Application team the Business Intelligence (BI) Architect will participate in broad, complex, and critical Oracle Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse projects at Aerojet, providing guidance and direction to project team members, subject matter experts, and end users. Analyzes business needs to help ensure proposed solution meets the project’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences Aerojet end user community leadership on key decisions. The BI Architect interacts with all levels of Aerojet technical and business management, along with various organizations in Aerojet to marshal the resources required for successful implementation, maintenance, enhancement of the existing BI systems, and keep Aerojet current with industry trends. The BI Architect will be responsible for designing and tuning the OBIEE/OBIA technical infrastructure and database in a data warehouse implementation.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
85% - Translate business/functional requirements into technology solutions. leverage knowledge of current data warehouse and software development methodologies to install and build the warehouse environments using OBIEE. Contribute to the design of Oracle OBIEE metadata and assist in formulating business requirements and mapping source data to logical and physical designs. Design and develop Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) routines. Design, extend, and modify DAC Execution Plans and troubleshoot ETL failures and make modifications as needed. Provide coaching and mentoring of less-experienced staff.
15% - Collaborates with project team to keep project on schedule. Coordinate issue resolution efforts across peer support groups, technical support teams, and vendors as required. Effectively coordinate and communicate issue resolution.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and six years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer five years of OBIEE experience (10g or 11g desireable), implementing decision support systems, Data Warehouses, preferably involving large databases. Should have experience with Informatia PowerCenter and Data Warehouse Administration Console (DAC). A deep understanding of DW and DSS architecture, design, and implementation is required. Preferred skills will include translating Logical Designs into Physical environment, installation, tuning, and hardware selection. SQL, UNIX, Linux skill valuable. Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills.
