Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
50% Collects data, performs data analysis and makes improvement recommendation to management. Once approved, creates plans and implements improvements per the plan. Trains departmental inspectors and engineers in improved methods, processes and equipment. The incumbent may lead multifunctional teams to implement improvements. Supports and participates in root cause investigations including the creation and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans. Participates in proposal development by coordinating with departmental engineers in creating cost estimates, reviewing future equipment and personnel needs.

20% Participates in Process FMEAs (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to ensure that people, product and process risk is identified and mitigated to allow efficient and effective manufacturing within the constraints of customer and company requirements.

20% Prepares, tracks and presents metrics to measure the health of various processes; creates and presents action plans for process improvement activities and special projects.

10% Manage other projects as assigned. Provide imaginative, thorough and practical solutions to a wide range of technical problems through the application of quality or industrial engineering disciplines and tools.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate science (Industrial Engineering, preferred) and 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. To be successful, must have the ability to apply engineering principles in the manufacture and inspection of aerospace hardware. Be willing to learn, have an excellent work ethic, problem solving abilities and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. This position requires the use of various computer applications to analyze data and to create presentations (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office software). Aerospace industry and ‘human-rated’ systems experience is preferred. Lean Manufacturing, ASQ and/or ASNT certifications are a plus. Some travel within the U.S. is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
