Project Engineer for Liquid Rocket Propulsion Development and Technology Programs.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
75% -- Oversee and coordinate engineering work on liquid rocket engine development or technology programs, working with Program Chief Engineer or Program Manager. Coordinate technical activities, track schedule and budget performance. Responsible for assuring that delivered products meet Aerojet and contractual requirements for engineering design. Project coordination within engineering and interface with manufacturing, quality, test, and procurement to ensure the program plan is attained.
15% -- Interface with Aerojet Program Manager, customers, and Aerojet Management on program technical issues.
10% -- Provide technical support to Program Management and Business Development organizations on business development activities such as proposals, writing white papers, or preparing and presenting technical briefings to customers.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Attend Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings. Provide written and verbal status reports to Aerojet Management. Create Design and Development plans for assigned projects.
Requirements:
This position requires a B.S. in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline and at least 5 years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience on liquid rocket propulsion projects including engineering team lead experience is preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
