Overview:
This is a Material Program Manager position to lead Supply Chain Materiel Management and cross functional teams to manage key suppliers supporting Aerojet’s Missile Defense Business Unit. This position will officially report to the Supply Chain Missile Defense Directorate of the Missile Defense Business Unit to manage cost, schedule and technical performance of key suppliers from development through production in support of major defense acquisition programs. This position will be responsible for planning, managing, implementing and executing development and production sub-contracts for Government and Prime Contractor programs.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
50% Assemble and lead integrated supplier management team(s) within the assigned program(s) while interacting with supplier(s), supply chain director, program managers, functional managers, and customers to achieve subcontract cost, schedule and technical objectives.

30% Manage and report to the assigned program, using Earned Value Management System (EVMS), the supplier(s) budget and schedule performance to the baseline to ensure support of program plans.

10% Support negotiation of subcontracts and assist in the development of supplier baseline program plans including development of supplier budget and schedule baselines, using the Earned Value Management System (EVMS), consistent with program plans.

10% Prepare presentations and lead teams in presentations to peers, customers, suppliers and managers. May include occasional overnight travel.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Engineering, Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Technology or directly related field) from an accredited school and nine (9) or more years experience in an supply chain, engineering, product development or manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Knowledge of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, assembly and ATP processes required. Technical knowledge of solid rocket propulsion, explosive and pyrotechnic devices, electromechanical actuators and actuator control systems would be strongly preferred. Ability to use technical knowledge and experience to evaluate plans, processes and results of the supporting team is required.

This position requires good communication skills, self-motivation, strong leadership skills, and interpreting program management and supplier demands in a continuously changing environment with minimal guidance. This position requires working knowledge of project management methods within the defense acquisition environment including program planning, integrated master scheduling, budgeting and earned value management. Ability to implement product design and development stage gate process (reviews for design, build, and test) is required. Willingness to travel and flexibility to work extended hours are required.

Demonstrated abilities in team building, leadership and delegation skills to achieve project objectives are also required. The applicant must have experience in leading, encouraging, reviewing and critiquing work of supporting team members to maximize program success. The applicant must be capable of defining and negotiating task objectives, scope description and completion criteria for specific and broad activities as well. The applicant will be required to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously and to make real-time plan adjustments in response to problems and unexpected interim results.

The applicant must have working capability in the use of typical office computer programs for conduct of program management such as MS PowerPoint (presentations, logic diagrams), MS Project or similar scheduling tool to create simple project files, MS Excel (entering formulas, graphing, developing spreadsheets), and MS Word (tables, program plans).

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
