Overview:
This position is located at our Socorro, New Mexico facility.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
40% - NDT - Sets up and operates equipment to inspect parts, materials, and assemblies to determine the existence and extent of discontinuities. Interprets ultrasonic readings, x-ray film and/or other NDT method discontinuities to determine location of subsurface and surface defects, such as inclusions, cracks, porosity, etc. Marks defective areas on the film, inspection record and rejected material.

40% - Assembly - Under close supervision, performs engineering support assignments that are routine to moderately difficult in accordance with specific instructions and established work procedures. Activities include: Gathers and maintains specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc. Performs computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plots data and draws simple curves and graphs. Assists in compiling records and data for analysis, running standard computer analysis. May assist in conduct of component tests. May create simple sketches as required. Detailed instructions are provided for new assignments. Guidance is readily available.

20% - Inspection - Performs inspection operations in accordance with Quality Control Standards, written specifications, or verbal instructions. Participates as required in product/process auditing through hardware/data verification and Statistical Process Control (SPB) verification activities. Completes all related documentation. The concentration is for X-ray radiography of explosives and propellants.

Secondary Job Functions:
Assembly and inspect warheads and other explosive devices using standard tools and instruments.

Requirements:
An Associate's degree with concentration in Engineering, Physical Science, or a closely related discipline and at least two (2) years of directly related engineering technical support experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
