Under very general direction, the Subcontracts Administrator determines approaches to objectives, demonstrating a complete understanding and application of procurement principles, concepts, and practices.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
50% - Procure complex and major components and subassemblies, in support of various programs. Commodities include but are not limited to electronic components or assemblies, machined parts, valves, nonmetallic structures, chemicals, soft-goods, outside processing, fasteners and other miscellaneous hardware. Manage subcontracts for these complex procurements. Job includes formal preparation of request for quotation (RFQ), quotation evaluation and issuance of formal purchase orders. Commodity management includes outside processing of metallic structures through insulation process for rapid production type programs.

20% - Create and issue fixed price, Time &amp; Material, Labor Hour and Cost-type Purchase orders, as required. Participate on formal source selection teams, conduct formal cost/price analysis, cost audits, fact-finding and formal negotiations, as required. Create purchase order files in accordance with all command media and necessary process disciplines.

25% - Support Integrated Product Teams (IPT’s), through Supply Chain Mgt. representative, or as active participant within the team. Monitor and provide feedback to the IPT on critical supplier performance, to assure timely delivery to manufacturing schedules. Inter and intra-departmental coordination is vital.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline and six (6) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hall Current and Arcjet Thruster propulsion systems are key components of Geo-synchronous Earth Orbit satellites used by our military and commercial satellite service providers. As a member of our Electrical Engineering team, a Senior Electronics Engineer participates in the success of space missions through design, development, and qualification of power processing products with emphasis on circuit analysis, design, implementation and verification of power processing electronics.  A Senior Electronics Engineer collaborates with other engineers in multiple engineering disciplines to translate customer requirements into space flight hardware.
